WIRETARP concrete protection foil

Use and application:

The concrete protection foil is used inside biogas plant equipment. The surface of digesters and secondary tanks exposed to biogas and hydrogen sulphide needs permanent protection in order to prevent defects in the concrete structure.
Important advantages of the foil are its easy manageability and the fast inlay process.
Thanks to the excellent values regarding low methane gas permeability and tensile strength within concrete, Wiretarp can offer an effective solution for the protection of the digesters’ concrete structure against aggressive gases.

Wiretarp foil is put on the inner surface of the wall (about 1,10–1,65 m), on the ceiling and the pole (mushroom) supporting the digester’s roof. The foil is delivered to its destination in a bundle. During concreting, it is placed within a short period of time into the formwork on the digester’s internal surface, where it is fastened to the wall by three strung straps.

The manufacturer cuts the ceiling foil exactly to size. The strips are cut out to the given diameter, and are welded together. After its delivery, the prepared product only needs to be spread out and put on its place.
The support post’s foil is also prepared by the manufacturer, so that it only needs to be placed within the formwork.

With the help of an extruder, the ceiling foil is welded to the wall foil with a similar material, so that it becomes completely smell- and gastight (groove). The same goes for the central support pole, which is connected to the ceiling.
Eventual hollows are cased sideways, and are connected in the same manner.

Structure and external:

Color: black; the inner surface is a 1,5 mm thick PP foil, vulcanized on a 60g-fabric. There is a 10 mm-deep looped fabric on the inside of the fabric, which ensures its adhesion on the concrete.

Studies and data:

The Frauenhofer Institute’s study report: its methane permeability and oxygen permeability are lower than 1 (cm3/m2 day bar).

Its tensile tear strength on concrete at normal temperatures and 60°C environmental temperature is 0,91–1,04 N/mm2.

Foil’s weight: 1.600 g/m2; Its maximal tensile force in longitudinal and lateral direction is 60KN/m; It shows good temperature stability; According to ISO 175 standard its chemical substance resistance is good; According to DIN 53387, its ultra-violet radiation resistance is also satisfactory.
